Fussy girl

My youngest whos 7 is very fussy with food to the point where she's not eating any fruit or veg! She'll only eat pizza, chips etc. What can I do to get her to eat more fruit and veg? Please help!

Sorry, Mandy, but you're going to have to be strict. if your little girl only likes chips and pizza then you have to take some blame - it must be you giving her these things. sorry to be harsh but you have to educate her taste buds to like healthy foods. And, if you don't give her rubbish she'll soon get hungry enough to eat the food you do give her!! I do sumpathise with you, but you've got to be cruel to be kind, Look at all the fat kids iin this country after all.

I know what a battle it is. My 7 yr old eats hardly anything, but loves chips and chocolate biscuits. Try sneaking fruit & veg in her food.eg: Pineapple on her pizza, or veggie chips - have you tried her with sweet potato? Can slice them & make into chips or mash them wiht butter, delicious. My kids love em. Smoothies are a good way to get the fruit down them. Shop ones too expensive so make your own. Just need a cheap hand blender then whizz strawberries, bananas - whatever fruit you can lay your hands on with some milk. Try & get one down her for breakfast or after school, then at least she's getting some fruiit.

Yes I must admit that I'm to blame.

Im not a fussy eater but my kid's are hardwork and ive always fed them whatever's easiest - that is food I know theyll eat and not complain about . I just never had the patience to persevere and get them to eat more of a variety.

Of course I want to feed my kids better - think Ive just always been scared that if they didn't like their  food, they'd starve. Think thats always been the problem - I'll admit laziness too!

Thanks for the advice, its time to make more of an effort! It'll be hard but must be done..................

Why don't you make you own pizzas for a while, then you could start introducing new foods for the top, your daughter might then realise there are other foods that she likes
