Thanks for sharing that, I just wish it was something people could address without making you feel like a failure for needing tablets.  I am on mine for the definate foreseeable future, and I don't think that is a failing, I see it as a positive cause of action, that I didnt suffer in silence, or go and slit my wrists or hav a breakdown of somesort.  If the tablets were for other medical conditions like diabetes or blood pressure, there wouldn't be the same stigma attached.

I chose to take prozac, to keep my chemicals in the correct balance, and I'm thankful for what life has given me, and as you say, it's nice to be able to smile again, and I take nothing for granted, I have a lovely hubby and three beautiful kids and I'm a lucky person, happiness to you and good luck   X

Thanks...slummymummy....I wish everyone thought like that, but you deal with what life throws at you, even if it catches you off guard!...Just celebrated a happy occasion, my eldest Son was 8 at the weekend, he had a gr8 time, so did we, he bought a joke book, with his birthday money, and has been making us giggle all weekend with the silly humour...here is one he told me....

What should you do after shaking hands with a monster????

Check you have all your fingers!!

It didn't work for me either. I have tried a lot of different medications but the best so far by a long way is a herbal potion called Clarodin. Takes a while to kick in but works well for me with no side effects (which can be worse than the depression itself!). You can buy it direct at a discount from supplegen.com.

I think you'reright, there's no shame in taking pills. They just help your brain remember how to make the chemicals which allow you to feel happiness. Something everyone deserves to feel...
