Gynaecology Visitover 2 years agoHi Everyone. I am 36 years old, female and single, living with Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus, with an indwelling catheter for bladder issues. I am also still a virgin, but am having major menstrual issues... heavy bleeding and clotting I have to go and see a gynaecologist on the 15th of January, I am petrified as I've never been before, nor been examined internally especially by a man, as this person is/will be. Do you think I'll have to be? I feel so naive and embarrassed writing this, but hope someonce can help... Take care. Janet x |

Re: Gynaecology Visitover 2 years agoHi Nina. Thankyou so much for your lovely message, you have helped me more than you realise. I have asked a female friend to go with me, as sadly I lost my own Mum almost 4 years ago (April), and she is the closest person I have to that. I will keep in touch with you. Thanks again for your support. Take care. Janet. x |

Re: Gynaecology Visitover 2 years agoHi Nina. As you asked me to let you know about "the visit", I thought I would... I went yesterday, and was examined internally, he hurt me and wasn't pleased that I couldn't get in the position he needed me to be in, he has advised me to have a coil fitted, which he tried to do yesterday, but couldn't, so I've to go in for the day on the 13th of Feb, and have a general anaesthetic, with pre-op and ultra sound the week before, really scared. Take care. Jan x |

Re: Gynaecology Visitover 2 years agoHi Yvonne. I did take a female friend with me for support when I went, but the consultant said because it was for such personal issues he wouldn't let her in with me. Take care. Jan x Edited over 2 years ago |
