Missing bread on atkins!

Has anyone got any ideas for replacing bread when you're on the atkins diet? The diets really working but I'm missing my bread! (it was a big part of my diet before)

I don't agree with Atkins at all - as soon as people come off the diet they put the weight back on because they gorge on bread! Hpw much bread did you eat? Have you tried cutting down to eating it just once a day?

cant help on the bread but i missd potatos and used to make sheperds pie using coliflower and cream - it tasted delish

Bread is used mostly as a filler. So instead of eating bread with all my meals I use rice. Low calories, easy to make and its cheap. Just the measure your in take and you'll be fine. Gluttony isn't reccomended.

Hi

 You have to be careful with the Atkins diet. Although it does work because your drastically cutting down on your bad carbs, its not really a diet you are going to stick to forever.

Instead you should try reducing your bread and potatoes and filling up on vegetables or having a little more protein such as chicken or tuna.

I have cut down on my bread and dont eat it every day. I swapped white bread for wholemeal. Also you could try using wholemeal tortillas.

With the Atkins, as soon as you start to eat these breads again you are going to put the weight on. Just cut down to one piece a day or something which is achieveable and you can do forever.

You need to change your whole thinking of eating and not just for a little while.

i use ryvitas they are only 6 carbs on the new high protien diet which also allows you between 30 to 40 carbs a day instead of 20 recomended by atkins i still lost 38lbs!!

That's a good idea, but the thing about ryvitas is that for me they are like green tea - good for you, but I don't like it!

Crisps are my downfall. Since having my girls I have developed a real savoury tooth and if I didn't eat any crisps, I'm sure I would lose this last stone. But I'd rather enjoy my crisps and be a bit bigger *lol* Not a very healthy attitude, I know, but I suppose I can't be that serious about losing weight!

Don't sweat the small stuff. It will make you stinky.
