Making meals fun

One trick I used was to buy plates which split the foo dinto different sections. My kids love there mix-up plates which means they often dont notice that its chips and sweetcorn again!

i may not have kids but i look after alot as i baby sit and i think getting kids involved really gets them intrested in there food.take them food shopping and get them to choose something they like ths doesnt meen junk this could meen anything..eg:''choose 2 types of veg you like and you can have it for dinner tonight'' get them to learn that you have to have one of eachtype of food, make a chart so they tick it of when they eat it. let them play with there food i dont meen chucking it at the cat i meen make it into somthing fun... this only works till there are about 6-7 though so dont invite a load of you kids 14 year old friends and then offer them smiley toast and beans it wont go down well...

hope this helps x

Poor you, I really feel for people who's kids are fussy eaters. My youngest can be sometimes but it's easier with the older two eating everything I put in front of them - I can just say to her "look, your sisters are eating it - let's see who finishes first" which usually works because although she's fussier, she's a faster eater :o)

To get mine to eat better, I used to mix up meals. So I would steam some brocolli and carrots but serve it up with fish fingers and a squirt of ketchup. I know ketchup has lots of sugar in, but veg on it's own can be bland for some people (including me!). Bribes do work and I don't think there's anything wrong with some bribes - like, I make my girls burgers and chips sometimes, provided they also eat the other meals I make.

What kind of meals are you cooking? You could try kebabs or pitta wraps, things they can put together themselves. Even burgers can be healthy if you use quorn burgers, sesame seed buns and salad in them with over cooked chips!

Hope this helps!

Keep Smiling and Eat Well :o)

hey

my kids have always been fussy eaters since they began on solids when they were babies. i tried everything but nothing worked. once i tried telling them that if they didnt eat there dinner they wouldnt get any pudding. it worked for a while and then they began to be fussy again. so i tried getting them to write down what they like and don't like and most of the things they hated was vegetables. so i tried mixing them with things they liked for instance i swapped normal buggers for veggie burgers and it seemed to work. if you still have problems then why not try getting a childrens kids book to see if they have any ideas on what to get kids to eat afterall a few homemade meals never hurt my children and they seemed to like them more than normal meals. good luck and i hope some of my ideas work after all the important thing is that they are eating but if they werent then you would be in bother!! anyways good luck and please tell me what you think of some of my ideas!! x
