a new type of weight loss class?

hi everyone, i am 22 now and at my heaviest i weighed 19 stone (that was all the weight i put on after having my second child). 8 weeks ago i made a vow to slim down and be healthy and to be able to walk into ANY shop and buy clothes and look goooooooood in them lol. so far i am down to 18 stone 1 and 3/4 pounds, so in total i have lost 12 and 1/4 pounds or something like that lol.  i have completely given up drinking fizzy juice and diluting jusce, all i drink is bottled water.  At first it was really hard to stick to the whole water thing but it became easier and now i enjoy it.  excersize is still quite hard but i take the kids for a walk up to the farm yard and feed the pet lambs, even getting out of bed through the night is a form of excersize lol i use every excuse i can! I have thought about starting my own weight loss class where people can get together and discuss how they have lost the weight and have a laugh and all lose weight together as i cant face going to a weight watchers class or scottish slimmers as the leader is already skinny! i dont want a skinny woman to tell me how i'm doing, i want a big woman to tell me and do it with me! i want to go swimming with other women my size so i feel comfortable not my husband who cant stop looking at all the skinny lasses lol.  what do you think? would you attend something like this? would you pay to meet new people, have fun and lose weight all at the same time? i thought maybe each week i would have something different to do and recipes to try and some hints and tips for people to help them on their way. I'm just not sure how to go about it or even if people would be interested in things like this.  Please let me know if you are someone that would be interested in something like this.

Thank you all so very much.

WELL DONE on your weight loss, that's really inspiring!

I think your idea for a weight loss class is inpired and you should definitely do it. I probably don't live anywhere near you (i think you live in Scotland?), but maybe you could set up a website?

i have thought about setting up a web site and its a really good idea, the only thing is, i dont know where to start! lol it would be great for women to be able to talk openly about their weight and get hints and tips from other women and even men, everyone would be able to get involved. if anyone knows anything about setting up a web page and getting sponsors and thngs please let me know!

I've never set up a website before so I couldn't help you but you could research it on the internet? I'm sure it can't be all that difficult if you think about all the different websites there are for everything!

hiya i would be interested in something like this having tried weight watchers to no avail the most i lost is half a stone!.!! i dont think haveing a skinny leader helps as they are not doing it at the same time so it would be better if people could talk to each other about their weight loss

lol my best friend an i went to weight watchers for 2 weeks and decided that neither of us could stick to it counting points or trying to remember which foods you could and couldnt eat on the core plan! it was a waste of £5.50 a week just to get weighed and not lose any weight! ive decided that i lost a stone in just over 2 months on my own so im just going to stick to what i was doing before! at my heaviest i was at about 19stone 1pound i am now weighing 17stone 9pounds. right enough i have had a month where i went off track and didnt eat properly and started drinking fizzy juice again and eating take aways but i didnt gain any weight or lose it so its just a case of getting back on track!

I help run a kids karate club. we have our own website. we set our website up with bravehost.com its free. You get loads of pages, guest page, forum etc and you can add photo's too. It was realy easy to do and its loads of fun updating it each week.

Also if your serious about setting up this group, find out about church halls or community centres, they're usualy realy cheap to hire (£15 per hour usualy). If you charge £2.50 or £3.00 per session you'll soon cover that.

Then get printing loads of leaflets that are eye catching and have all the info people need. Put poasters up in local shops and schools etc. You'll get loads of excersise delivering the leaflets door to door too. Just watch out for the dogs lol.

Good luck, I hope you give it a go. Let us know how you get on.

lol thanx looby! ill deffinately look into it all its just finding the time with the 2 kiddies runnin round lol but its deffinately something for the future and something i have to really look into, like do we actually need another weight loss class and how i can make my organization different to other peoples! the difference between me and others is that fact i dont believe in counting carbs or callories! all the others are hard to follow and you always feel like you have to lose weight every week! well any way i hope i get the chance coz i feel like i could really make a difference!

Hi.  you say that you don,t want a skinny woman telling you how to lose weight but have you thought that the woman in question might have once been as big as,or bigger than you.   I say this because I know a lady who was once huge and used to run a slimming world class.   That huge woman was slimming with the rest of them and is now a slim woman.   Kind regards. Maggie.

i know that 99.9% of the time the skinny leaders have lost weight but i think it would be nice to always rotate the leaders so that once a leader has lost their weight someone else can take over.  leaders are suppost to be inspiration and although they have lost weight and are inspiring to some people but a lot of people would find inspiration in their leader losing weight along side them.
