Kids these days

Hi all. New to this!! My 13 year old boy, has picked up this like modern ‘Catherine Tate’ like accent. I dont like it but I dont think there’s much I can do about it, seems like all his friends speak the same – maybe he’ll grow out of it???

Agree Mandy. My 14 yr old just the same, but to be honest any sort of conversation out of him is better than the normal grunts. Worries me tho cos I've got 2 little ones & they've started talking like that too. Help!!!!!!

 i really dont think you should worry. ive got 3 boys and they all went thru phazes of speaking like gangstas! the oldest one is nearly 20 now and hes stopped when he went to college. now the younger ones hear him speaking better and dont do it so much either. besides, if you make a fuss, theyll only get worse to annoy you!

Yes I'm hoping that it is just a phase! I'm trying not to make such a big fuss of it but I can't help cringing. Makes me feel old too as I have no idea about some words that he says.

Thanks for reassurance, sure he'll eventually grow out of it!
