diet for anorexics?

hi.

i suffered from anorexia for quite a while, and it took me ages to get over it. i struggled so hard to deal with it, as i knew it was a symptom of the abuse i had suffered at my father's hands (more about that later).

but now, i really need to lose weight. i'm not just thinking that, i've been told it! (i'm not too bad, maybe a stone or two could go)

but i'm scared if i start a diet, i'll go overboard again. aanyone got any tips??

would appreciate any advice at all.

xx

Hi. I can only suggest that you just look at the calories you eat instead of thinking about the weight you want to loose. If you concentrate on calories it will take your focus away from the weight. I am no expert but I have been where you are. Doing this worked for me. I lost 12lb safely. I hopethis helps.

The main thing you should be trying to do is to develop a healthy eating pattern for life. Not a short term or long term diet to lose or put on weight. If you eat healthily most of the time, then you shouldn't have problems with your weight. There are some really good tips on this site - try the diet section which also has tips on exercise and then the nutrition section under Food.

I don't want to brag but I have 3 children and have kept my weight steady at around a size 10-12. Yes, I'm a bit heavier than I was 10 years ago, but our bodies go through a lot of changes during our lives. I try to eat as healthily as I can most of the time, but still give myself treats because although I want to set a good example to my kids, I also want them to love food like I do!

I'd be a lot slimmer if I could give up crisps but I'd rather enjoy the crisps *lol* :Let us know how you get on X

Don't sweat the small stuff. It will make you stinky.
