You have a few options - I love lists, so here they are!

1) Find a recipe and a friend who can help you (there are some great recipes on this site under Food - try the carrot cake)

2) Don't make a cake on principle - you don't have to prove anything to anyone

3) Ask you boss (in front of lots of people) if it's within your job description to bake cakes and if not, don't do it

4) Ask your boss if she'll make one next week if you make one this week

5) Buy a shop bought cake and pass it off as your own

Personally, I'd choose option 5 *lol* Why make life harder for yourself? Just find yourself a little-known delicatessen and get them to make you one!

Don't sweat the small stuff. It will make you stinky.

We just love cake here in the office, nothing puts a smile on our faces quicker than the sight of an iced sponge! Some of you might know I'm also editor of Pick Me Up and we're in the middle of the great pick me Up cake making competition. Each week one of the team makes a cake that has something to do with the mag.
Natalie who is the Picture Editor made one of my head! You can imagine what they said, can't you? ' At least there's plenty to go round!' The mickey taking never stops!
As for whether you should make a cake or cheat, well if you don't want to risk backing one you could get an iced sponge from the supermarket and then add some decorations of your own, or pipe names onto it.
That's what I'm going to be doing when it's my turn in the PMU competition. If you look in the issue that's on sale now you'll see what our office manager Louisa made. It was a very different kind of carrot cake and we wolfed it down!

We're more biscuit lovers in the Fire Service :o) There's always someone about with an open packet of biscuits!

If it's a birthday of someone in my team, they get to choose a curry and I make it and bring it in with chapattis for the whole team. They pay me a little towards the cooking costs, which is very sweet of them.

We don't do a lot of savoury here although none of us would ever turn our noses up at a curry. As for biscuits - don't get me started. We've got an M&S opened just up the road from the office and they have all sorts of special offers on the most delicious biscuits. The trouble is, as far as I'm concerned, there's no such thing as one biscuit. It starts at two and works its way up!

*lol* I was trying to be so good last night and then opened a pack of hobnobs at 9pm! I can never have one biscuit or one crisp either! Mind you, if I don't have any at all, I also stop craving them so they're definitely moorish!

I should just never have them, ever, but where's the fun in that?!

There is a lot of fun in eating salt and vinegar crisps at the same time as a Kit Kat.... I know!

*lol* I used to love dipping salt and vinegar crisps into Philadelphia with garlic and herbs! Then I realised just how many extra calories I was getting through and had the crisps on their own. Have you tried the Walkers Sensations Sweet Chilli flavour crisps? I've had to stop buying them, as well as Pringles.

I'm getting hungry writing all this - I'm going to have a choccie biscuit!

Have one for me! Especially if it's a chocolate digestive... I reckon if I came back as a biscuit that's what I'd be!
