Problems on the pill?

Hi everyone

I went out to dinner the other night with some girl friends and we started talking about the pill. It turned out that out of 8 of us, 7 had had really bad side effects, headaches, sickness, mood swings.. One girl even said she thought she was going a bit mad when she was talking it - we'd all been on different ones and all felt our doctors had been dismissive and not very clued up on what we should do.

Has anyone else had problems?

I tried lots of different ones and they made me sick, every day. umping your body full of hormones is somethings many of us are encouraged to do by our doctors, but the side effects seem really quite severe and not talked about...

I don't use it now and lots of my friends are the same. I know it's good at stopping you getting pregnant, but what else it it doing in the meantime?

they give it to such young girls now as well...

i am only 16.

Me and  my partener decided it was time for me to go on the pill. So i did. I have been on the 'mini pill';Cerazette for 20 days now and have been on my period for the whole 20days. My period has not slowed down like i am going to stop.

Is this normal?

What should i do?

 Hi Maymee,

 That doesn't sound quite right to me. Maybe you should talk to your doctor as this pill might not be the right one for you.

The different side effects that the pill can cause are different for everyone and if you're having any trouble, your doctor can usually find a more suitable pill for you.
