kids and knifes

i no my 14yr old is good but sum of his mates are a bit ruff - all this kife crime has got me worried now.  i dont wanna spoil his fun but i dont no wot hes always up to or wot the other boys are doin. any1 got any ideas?

I think it depends where you live. i'm not saying that the stabbings arent worrying but they're mainly in london and other big cities.
Just let him know youre there for him and hopefully he wont go off the rails. good luck

I think it's all just media hype. There always have and always will be stabbings and gun crime. I heard that reportig has gone up massively but the crime rate itself has not increased!

Hello,

I agree with kids keeping knives on them for protection; but not for protection when it comes to starting on other kids on purpose. That's just wrong; cos then they're intentionally planning to stab someone.

If it's just his mates doing it, then thank God that he isn't doing it too.

I;m 16 years old, and I can really understand where you're coming from. But the only thing you can do is make sure he doesn't keep going to dodgy places where knife crime is high, and just sit him down and let him know that if he uses knives out and about then you're all going to be very disappointed in him.

We all hang around with dodgy people in our lives; it's ok, as long as we don't get too caught up in their lives ourselves.
