33 Stone Teenager

I was reading on thesun.co.uk this morning about a 15 year old girl who weighs 33 stone and my heart just went out to her. She can barely walk with all the extra weight she is carrying. The comments people left on the website were cruel enough, so I dread to think what her fellow school kids are saying to her. Kids can be so cruel. She has also been banned from her school canteen - a teacher said she wasn't welcome there anymore?! I would make a complaint about that, that's just shocking!

I know this is a very personal subject, but I blame the parents in these cases, especially in the case of very overweight children. They haven't been taught good eating habits in the first place and in most cases they are copying overweight parents (the mum of this girl weighs 20 stone). They need to be educated, both parents and children, in eating and exercise.

 Would love to know what everyone else thinks of this, even if you disagree and think I'm too harsh :o)
