Dad with Alzheimer's

Dad with Alzheimer's

My Dad is still relatively young - just turned 60 - but he's recently started showing early signs of dementia. He can't remember days of the week and repeats himself in conversation within minutes.

It really frightens me, because suddenly he's no longer the person I grew up with. Has anyone else experienced this? How did you cope?

 Hello there i have just joined this site and saw your post You dont say whether your dad is aware he is doing this or whether he would agree to see a Dr if it is distressing him then he needs to see a Dr who can undertake some tests

My mam has ben displaying these symptoms for a while and has been seeing a consultant at home who states its more likely to be Vascular dementia not Alziemers as she can remember some things wheras Alziemers they forget everything She is 76 she writes things down and has someone with her when she needs to remember things
