Strange habits...about 1 year agoMy two year old son has some very odd habits, I's call them almost OCD. He loves cars, but he doesn't like to play with them as a normal child would, instead he'll line them up as though they're about to start a race, or from end to end, with them all facing the same way. I've also noticed that when I ask him to tidy up, he'll put things in exactly the same place every time, and start to whinge if something else is in the way that he can't move. I've even caught him lining up his toast soldiers in the morning before he eats them! There are other things that I can't think of on the spot, but I'm slightly OCD, and I'm worried I may have 'passed it on' to him. My son is my only child, so does anyone know if this is normal, or if not should I be worrying about it? |

Re: Strange habits...about 1 year agoIf I was you, I wouldn't be worried about your son as he is still very little. What's "normal" anyway? My eldest is very tidy and organised and she's got that from me - I'm sure I'm borderline OCD but I try very hard not to be! Try not to make an issue of it - if he wants to line up his toys and food, let him. If you try to "do anything" he might see his behaviour as "wrong" and start to worry about having to change or hide his behaviour from you. Don't sweat the small stuff. It will make you stinky. |
