1) Advice for energy saving:

- Really start to encourage people in your family to switch off lights and other electrical items when not in use. Even little children can learn the habit of switching off the lights as they leave the room, providing they can reach the switch! And invest in energy saving bulbs for every room. Well worth the bit of extra money you have to shell out at the beginning. They last so much longer and use less electric

- If you're cooking something on the stove or in the oven, think about switching it off just before the food is cooked thoroughly (say about 5-10 mins before). The steam in the pot created from the heat or the heat that stays in the oven should be sifficient to finish cooking the food

2) Don't go food shopping when hungry! You'll only end up buying more food! Plan the meals for the week (even if you only do this in your head, like me) and buy what you need for that week

3) Shops like Aldi are really good for stocking up on soft drinks. We get through a lot of fruit juice in our house and I make a trip once every couple of months

That's all I can think of for now!

Don't sweat the small stuff. It will make you stinky.
