DIY Elderflower cordial! Swank or pants?

 Hey everyone,

Long time no see! I had some problems with a house move that meant no internet at home and frazzled nerves at work, boo!

Anyway I hope you will cross your fingers for me and wish me luck because I'm going to try my hand at making home-made elderflower cordial this eve. I don't know why I'm doing it, elderflower cordial is pretty cheap! But in the spirit of being skint and willing to try new things I thought I would give it a go. 

I've picked 20 elderflower heads from the local park (I picked them pretty high up because of, um, dog wee potential!!!). A friend has lent me some citric acid from her kitchen which the recipe says you need. Then it's just sugar and water and lemons...

I hope it tastes nice I've promised my work mates they can have some and I don't want to give them swine flu...

 Haha, you're welcome but I know you could make it yourself - you're a much better cook than me but it's soooo easy

The house move was brilliant. I moved from the inner city to suburbia and thought I would die of boredom and loneliness but actually I love it. Fresh air, great pubs, good for the dog, nice boyfriend, friends nearby - I love it. Wish I'd done it sooner tbh.

Where did your cute profile pic go? I saw it was a new one and was going to ask if they were both your daughters or one of them was you?

You can have a box of choccies for that remark! It is me in the foreground with my middle daughter, Simie, who's 7. I just fancied changing my pic, I get bored seeing the same ones over and over.

Glad your house move went well. I live in a town that aspires to be a city, but it's a town really. We live close to the city centre but far enough out not to have much traffic and lots of parks near our house. It's also a short walk/ drive to the countryside. I love visiting places like London and Birmingham but could never live there.
