All you need is 25 matchboxes and some leftover wrapping paper. The kids will love counting down the days till Christmas and opening the advent calendar draws to find a small treat.

How to make an advent calendar
Matchbox advent calendar craft equipment:
- 25 empty matchboxes
- 25 buttons or split pins
- Felt-tip pen colour of your choice
- Double-sided tape
- A glue stick
- Wrapping paper of your choice
Matchbox advent calendar craft instructions:
Number 25 matchboxes using a felt-tip pen. Add a button or a short split pin to each drawer for the handle.
Stack the boxes in 5 tiers, drawer-side out, with number 25 at the top (see picture). Then fix the matchboxes together, using double-sided tape.
Glue a strip of wrapping paper around the edges to finish the matchbox advent calendar off.
