Exercise for your age group

Exercise for your age group
Average rating: 3 out of 5 star rating

Look after your body to keep it in shape, whatever your age. Here are the best exercises to try.

20s

You can try anything from team sports to white water rafting. Your cardiovascular capacity is at its peak, so at the very least stay fit with 20-30 minutes of vigorous exercise three to five times a week. Jogging is great.

30s

Weight training is important to offset the reduction in muscle that starts in your 30s. To keep up flexibility and reduce stress levels try yoga or Pilates.

40s

Add a wobble board to your exercise programme. Standing on one for 10 minutes three times a week will help keep your balance sharp, and strengthen the core muscles that keep you strong.
