Rosemary Conley's Kick-start Low GI Diet Food Plan
What do you do?
For the first two weeks follow the 14-day kick-start diet plan. You can eat three main meals a day plus two power snacks, one mid-morning and one mid-afternoon. You're also allowed an extra portion of salad that you can eat at any time and 450ml (3/4 pint) semi-skimmed milk.
During week three, mix and match the meal plans. You can also add a 100 calorie low-fat dessert each day, a daily treat worth 100 calories plus an alcoholic drink each day worth 100 calories.
Try to choose foods with five percent or less fat content and remember to drink five glasses of water a day. Tea, coffee and diet drinks are also allowed and you can repeat any of the meal options.

Some of us have disabilities which make exercise difficult to impossible so what do we do? Also grapefruit cannot be eaten when on most types of medication, this should have been considdered.

I would like to loose about 2 stones but find a change of diet very difficult as i am very fussy. I have looked at day one on the diet and as i do not eat eggs or cheese along with many other things i feel i am defeated before i start.

I need to lose about 3 stone. However I have to be careful what I eat as I suffer from epilepsy and gout so things like marmite and grapefruit are out. Can anyone help.

my husband has just been diagnosed with PVD and was told to follow a Low Gi Index Diet, but unfortunatley they all seem to be about losing weight and at about 7/8 stone he certainly doesnt need to lose any more weight .So can someone please advise us on what he can eat that will do his health good but not make him lose weight....

I am still not convinced enough tosubscribe to an online weight loss programme because I have specific likes dislikes . for example I am allergic to eggs, I dislike garlic. I don't want to have to cook two different meals every night one for me and one for my husband. I don't want to have to buy luxury foods that I wouldn;t normally buy. I don't eat a lot of bread, potatoes, I prefer rice and pasta, but usually only eat these once a week. Example breakfast: weetabix with semi skimmed milk or Special K or Shreddies or cornflakes. Yoghurt drink Tea no sugar mid morning : Tea/coffe no sugar _ low cal cereal bar Lunch cup a soup - low cal - slice of bread or small bread roll or a cracker Yoghurt Dinner: Meat/fish/chicken with vegtables/salad Dessert -Natural Yoghurt with apricots or prunes Other drinks throughout day - water Note in good weather I walk to and from work a 25minute brisk walk each way- homeward is uphill! Unfortunately I do not have the time to do any other regular exercise but I enjoy gardening and I am kept busy with grandchildren.
