I tried the Blood Type Diet

I tried the Blood Type Diet
Average rating: 4 out of 5 star rating

I'd heard that the actress Martine McCutcheon lost a lot of weight on the Blood Type Diet so I thought I'd give it a go. I'm a Blood Type A and it was a bit of a shock to read that I wasn't supposed to eat much meat. I'd been having it nearly every night! I read the book by Dr D'Adamo then started to eat more vegetarian meals, like veggie curries and stir-frys.

I did lose weight - about a stone in three months, although I don't know whether this was just because I was eating more healthily anyway. Now I've discovered eating less meat suits me, I'm going to keep up the veggie meals.

I am blood type B, but also have IBS,which is caused by dairy food intolerance, so I dont think the diet would do me much good. I have to say I probably would lose weight if I followed it but not because it is healthy!

I am type O which means I should eat red meats, veg and fruit, no wheat produce, coffee or spuds. I have been doing this for about two months but not as a calorie controlled version. I have basically been stuffing myself and not gained weight which is unusual for me. i did cheat the other day and had a filthy Mcdonalds with coffee and I knew about it after. Within hours my throat was sore and I felt lousy. i am going to continue with my O plan but do the calorie controlled version with exercise to shed a stone.

Michaela : My Dad who is now 76 has been living primarily on the A type diet for just about a year now and he loves it !!! He has not really lost much weight, maybe just the odd pound or two, but he says he has never felt better and he feels 'cleaner' inside somehow and is digesting his food very well. So there may be somthing to it. ( I am also an A and we are both vegetarian, so happy to see that A people should be veggies anyhow !!!) Good luck to you. Vickie. :)
