I tried the Cabbage Soup Diet

I tried the Cabbage Soup Diet
Average rating: 3 out of 5 star rating

My husband's work do was coming up and I wanted to fit back into a slinky black dress I'd had for years. I put off dieting until I only had a couple of weeks to go then suddenly panicked! The cabbage soup diet seemed a good way of losing weight fast.

I made a fresh batch of the soup every two or three days and followed the other bits of the plan, like eating lots of fruit and veg. I didn't mind the cabbage soup to start with but by about day four, I'd gone right off it! I tried to make it more interesting by adding different veg and herbs but it didn't make it much better.

It had rotten side effects too - my husband nearly ended up sleeping in the spare room I was so full of wind! But I stuck at it for a week and lost four pounds. I fitted into my little black dress but, to be honest, I'd put all the weight back on two weeks later!

I Tried this diet, I gave up after day 4 because i weighed myself and i had lost NO weight, i know i should gone on, but it felt like it was all for nothing, I am Happy for everyone else who seemed to just drop the pounds, but that wasn't the case for me, I don't know what i would've eaten on day 5 anyway since i am a vegetarian.

I have only just started this diet and i am only on day four, but so far i have lost 6 pounds which was great finding this out only after a few days. The diet i feel works well as when you have the soup its not nice, i even like cabbage and after the second day i hated cabbage and all foods reminded me of the soup so put me off food really but not to much, but when i did get hungrey it was great having the option to stuff yourself with fruit ad veg, but after a while i did start to get board of this but then day four is great with new options then day five meat, so really i think its tough at first with the soup but once you hit day four its encouraging because you dont want to give up because your half way and theres also diffrent food. so overall i say this is a good diet apart from the soup taste but is worth just 1 week. my plans after the soup is to start an egg diet which is just meat and egg, the reason im going straight onto another is because everyone states you gain the weight back so im going to go up diets so eventually i can have a nice steady diet and not put on all the weight again.

This is a fantastic diet for people who want to lose weight. I found that after the first week, you are cleansed of all the rubbish you have eaten and by the second week you have no wind at all. I lost 14lbs and the only reason I have some of it back on is because I still eat chocolate and tons of bread. The diet was actually created by the Sacred Heart Foundation/Hospital for overweight people about to have heart surgery and needed to lose weight fast. So don't stay on this diet for too long (a week sounds good )or you'll fade away:o)
