Hello I have been 'doing Atkins' on and off for 4 years. I first heard of it through a friend after the birth of my first child. I have never been overweight but I had a couple of stones to lose after I gave birth. I was amazed with the results. I lost 10 pounds in 12 days - and kept it off. After I had my second child I tried Atkins again but it didn't work very well. The problem was I simply tried to memorise what I had done the first time round and later realised I had made a couple of silly mistakes. The thing with Atkins is that you must follow the rules of Induction religiously. If you cheat you have blown it. I am doing the Atkins diet now and in 2 weeks I have lost 9 pounds. The thing I absolutely love about Atkins is I'm NEVER hungry and I'm always very satisfied. And, my tummy is finally flat! Who wouldn't like to have cream in their coffee and chicken breast stuffed with cheese and wrapped in parma ham with lashings of cheese sauce on the veg for tea?!!! One thing I also must point out is that this website says to choose red wine over white. In actual fact red wine has 2 grams of carbs per glass, where white wine has only 0.9 grams. Therefore, white wine is the best choice (dry).
