Top tip
It is essential that people with diabetes take regular physical exercise as well as eating a healthy, balanced diet. Diabetes UK recommends you do at least 30 mins of physical activity five times a week. You should do enough to leave you at least slightly out of breath. Consult your GP before embarking on any new physical activity.

Thank you for your excellent and concise information. As a recently diagnosed diabetic I immediately trawled through google and the internet to find out what I should be doing, eating and sensibly planning for the future. Your information on GOODTOKNOW condensed to a notepad page together with the free site FITDAY have really helped me to readjust my lifestyle after only 3 weeks of being told. MJE
