Sue Gleve with some helpful South Beach tricks
'It helps to be organised when you're on a diet, and the South Beach is no exception. Simple steps like washing and slicing your vegetables the night before, ready for the next day, make things easier. If you're eating out, make sure you've memorised your list of foods you're allowed before you go, or take the list with you. When you're faced with a long menu and the waiter is hovering, it can be confusing. Make sure you eat one of your snacks before you go, and order a salad or soup as a starter, both these tricks will help you feel full and stop you over-eating. Another good tip is to eat half the meal, then take the other half home in a doggy bag and eat it as part of the next day's allowance.'
