Becky Houghton on how to cut your exercise time
Exercise helps to build muscle mass. Muscle mass can help to build bone mass, which is especially important for women. Anaerobic exercise can especially help with building muscle mass, this includes lifting weights and resistance training.
Having lean muscle can help you increase your metabolic rate, meaning you burn more calories, even when you're not exercising!
Each pound of lean body tissue burns about 14 calories per day. Each pound of fat tissue burns about 2 calories per day.
Consuming low-fat protein daily can help you build lean muscle mass. Without adequate protein intake your body will steal protein from your muscles and organs. Eating at regular intervals, every three to four hours, will also help to keep your metabolism ticking over.
