Love working out? Why not make a career of it too. Here's a few ideas to get you started - and don't worry, you don't have to be young or gorgeous.

Become a... Fitness instructor

What do they do?
Employed by private or council gyms, or in hotels and health spas, fitness instructors plan fitness regimes for people and show them how to use exercise equipment correctly and safely.

What qualifications do you need?
The ideal route is to land a job first (you'll need to demonstrate a good level of fitness and enthusiasm) and your employer pays for your training. Or you could do a gym training course. These take about six weekends and cost £600 if you do it with the YMCA. But there aren't any guarantees of a job at the end of it all.

How much do they earn?
Average pay for a fitness instructor is around £12-14,000 a year. Freelance instructors get £10-£20 an hour. In time you could take extra training to become a personal trainer - and charge £20-£40 an hour,
