Fix your diet disasters
Anyone who's ever been on a diet knows what a rollercoaster it can be - one minute you're happy because you've noticed your waistband is looser, the next you're feeling grumpy because you can't join the girls for a takeaway.
But don't beat yourself up about those minor slip-ups because there's always a way to get back on track. We show you how.
You didn't stop at just one biscuit
Ok, so you had a couple of biscuits - maybe even a whole packet. Yes, this may have put on a pound or just stopped you from losing weight for a couple of days, but you can make up for it.
Don't skip your next meal because you'll be hungry, and when you're hungry temptation is harder to fight - you might end up with another packet of biscuits! So choose a tasty, healthy meal instead.
Start working out. Foods with lots of carbohydrate turn to fat if the energy they give you isn't burnt off. Exercise won't completely burn off the biscuits but it will speed up your metabolism and it'll beat the slump you may feel after eating very sugary, high carbohydrate foods.
You've rewarded yourself with a bar of chocolate
This is like taking one step forward and two steps back. If you want to lose weight you need to ditch the foodie rewards. Do something that makes you feel good, such as painting your nails, have an extra hour in bed, treating yourself to a bubble bath or having sex!
If you just can't resist chocolate then there are ways you can still have it without putting on weight.
- Break up a bar of chocolate into chunks and put it in the freezer, one chunk lasts longer in the mouth when it's frozen.
- Grate a small chunk over some low-fat yogurt
- Have a low-calorie hot chocolate

If you are interested in watching what you eat but hate the idea of mesauring every morsel try the "plate Method". Locate a plate that is 9 inches in diameter. When you fix you dinner plate fill 1/2 the plate with vegetables, 1/4 with a leans protein and the other 1/4 wtih a starch or grain ( 1/2 cup brown rice, wheat pasta, mashed potatoes or a dinner roll). You will receive all the benifits of measuring with none of the hassel.
