How do I follow the exercise plan?

The muffin top exercise plan
Average rating: 3 out of 5 star rating

  • Choose which type of muffin top you have then follow the programme for you. Do any of the muffin top exercises for however long your programme recommends.
  • Spend 5 - 10 minutes doing warm-up and cool-down stretches.
  • Watch what you eat, cut down on fatty foods such as cakes, biscuits, chocolate, takeaway food, pies, fried foods, ice cream and desserts.
  • Don't stress if you haven't managed to do your exercise for the day, try to do what you can, even if it's just 10 minutes.
  • Congratulate yourself for doing well, whether that's doing the exercise or just saying no to a pastry.
  • Persevere with whichever programme you choose for at least a month to notice a difference.
  • Do the cardiovascular exercise included in each programme. This is physical activity that raises your heart rate and helps to burn fat, such as running, jogging, brisk walking, cycling, rounders, tennis and swimming. It could also be playing with the kids in the garden as long as it gets your heart beating faster.
  • Stop if you feel any pain or discomfort or if any of the exercises hurt. Speak to your GP if the pain continues for more than a day afterwards.
