For most women it's perfectly safe to have sexual intercourse throughout their pregnancy. Your partner may need to be reassured that the penis doesn't go further than the vagina, and that the baby isn't affected.

If you've had bleeding during your pregnancy, have a low-lying placenta (placenta praevia) or a history of premature labour, then you might be advised not to have sex for a while. But otherwise, it really isn't a problem.
