There's an overwhelming desire among fathers to be at the birth. It's a cultural change of enormous proportions. But it's really important it's desired and discussed beforehand. Few men would attend the birth against their partner's will, but the majority of mums want their partners there. It's positive for all involved. Every child loves to hear their father say, "I held you just after you were born." And for men, witnessing the birth of their child is amazing.
