Why buy a baby bath?
To some people buying a baby bath seems like an unnecessary expense on top of everything else your newborn is going to need, but here are a few reasons why it might be worth while, and pointers to help you choose the right one. Not every parent has a baby bath. Some mums and dads simply use an adult bath or take the baby into the bath with them!
Most mums and dads, however, worry about dropping or losing control of their slippery baby and prefer to use a specially-designed baby bath, especially those with features that reduce the risk of the baby slipping and which leave your hands free to do the washing. Make sure you buy one that you're comfortable using, to make bath-time safe and fun.
Things to consider
- Do you want a bath with moulded contours that help support your baby?
- Are there any non-slip features?
- How easy is the bath to fill and empty? Is it possible to do it directly from your own bath's taps?
- Does it have arms that raise it up and make it easier on your back?
- How easy is it to store and dry?
- Do you want trays for soaps, shampoos, sponges etc (also known as top 'n' tail bowls)?
