Money has been tight since Kellie was born as I was made redundant shortly after I returned to work from maternity leave. One purchase that has really saved us money is a travel cot. At the beginning, we used it as a Moses basket.

Now Kellie is older, it means she can come with us when we go to friends for dinner. Not only does it save on babysitter costs, but it also means we can have a social life without too much expense.
Emily Taylor, 34, from Harrogate, mum to Kellie, 20 months
