How to get a stressed teen to sleep
Teenagers need a winding-down bedtime routine, just like toddlers. Encourage them to avoid homework or computer games for at least half an hour before bedtime. If they lie awake worrying, suggest that they get up and start winding down again by having a warm drink and listening to soft music, or reading a trashy novel. Avoiding caffeine may also help, as can exercising several times a week.

Hi, I'm a fourteen year old teen girl and I am quite healthy but there is one problem. It takes me a long time for me to get to sleep, because I just wait for it, and it doesn't come... and I just NEED to find a way to get to sleep quicker, because I know it'll help me. I've heard that it really improves your over-all health, and I was just wondering if anyone could give me some tips (or ANYTHING) on how to 'wind-down'. I've tried writing in a journal before and listening to calming music and it helped a bit. Thanks so much!
