How to deal with night terrors

Expert help on night terrors
Average rating: 4 out of 5 star rating

Night terrors are dreams or nightmares where the child is partially awake. They may scream and cry but, while this is distressing to watch, they won't remember anything in the morning. The best approach is to stay calm and talk in a low, reassuring voice. Don't try to wake him, as it'll frighten him. Sitting quietly with him in his room until it passes is the best way to help. Avoid asking him about it the next day, but give extra cuddles and reassurance.
