When do babies start to toddle?
Most babies take their first steps by 18 months, and a small number may be nearer two years. If there are no other developmental concerns, and they're progressing in all other areas there's little need for concern.
What's important is that they're attempting to get mobile and developing in that area. Late walkers often shuffle on their bottoms, roll around or crawl.
Give them plenty of opportunity to play on the floor. They may well be advancing in other areas, such as fine motor skills, practised while sitting, it's swings and roundabouts. If your child's not taking steps by 18 months, talk to your GP.
