Recognising the range of and changes to your cervical secretions is key to understanding your fertility because they are so closely linked to oestrogen levels. Just prior to ovulation, these secretions become completely clear and can be described as resembling raw egg white.

hi, im leanne and im just writing a comment to catherine, i am in the exact same situation with the depo pro vera injection, it has been 1yr 3month since i last has my injection...I DO NOT ADVISE ANY WOMAN TO USE THE DEPO PROVERA INJECTION IF THEY WANT CHILDREN WITHIN THE NEXT FEW YRS!!!!!! i have been to my doctor and had swab tests, it is very stressful trying to conceive however my doctor says that stress is the worst thing for conception. i have had no children, unlike you catherine, i wouldnt worry because you are obviosly fertile, your baby will come when your body is ready and its obviously not...i think its because of the injection still affecting your cycle, my persiods are 36days apart sometomes 28days...they are very irregular, because of the injection. me and my partner are now struggling for children, and i just hope my swab results come back ok!! if you do not conceive within a few month catherine i would seek help as fertility does decrease with age..however relax and you should be fine...good luck x

My husband and I have been trying for a baby for what feels like forever now, only i'm trying to work out my ovulation process, but cant as my periods are still not regular. I was having the depo injection until oct 2007, my periods came bk in sep 2008, but i had nothing in oct/nov, then they resumed in dec.....at the moment they're between 27 and 34 day cycles, so how do i work out when it's best for me to conceive when my periods are differnet cycles apart? is there an average i can use, and how do i do that? And how long do you have to be trying for before you consult a doctor for help? I already have 2 children, 9 and 2.5 yrs. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you, Cath x

Hi, can some one please help me.......im confused! basically i came off the pill end of september had a period then, and then had my next period on the 1st November, only lasted 3 days and was pretty normal, then 2 weeks later (mid-cycle) I had pink then brown stringy discharge, I assumed that might of been ovulation, during that time I had severe stomach cramps as if I was about to come on, but didnt....Ever since I've been feeling tired and nauseas, also nipples have gotten larger and darker slightly, also this bloatedness is driving me mad, I took a pregnancy test but I'm assuming that was way too soon! so my main questions are: 1.Can I get pregnant around ovulation time but then still come on my period on the 2 weeks after? 2. How soon do the symptoms show after conceiving? 3. Is trying to get pregnant harder once you've come off the pill after using it for 5 years? any advice is much appreciated!!!!!

Im a 35 year old munm of 3, i have 2 sons from a previous relationship, they are ages 17 years and 12 years old. I also have a daughter with my current partner, my daughter just turned 1 year old on Thursday 6th november and i turned 35 years old on 17th november. I would love to have another baby soon, preferably before im 36 as im worried that there would be more chance of complications the older i get, and i dont want to be an old mum, i want my kids to grow up with me so we can still do fun and enjoying things together. My last period started on 12th november and finished today 18th november and would like some advice on when i would be most fertile. Please help as i am also anaemic and my haemoglobin levels are also very low and i get exhausted and very tired, my partner also thinks that this is not the right time as this may interfere with us conceiving.

Hi, I'm 27 years old and am trying for a baby. My boyfriend is 31. I had an ectopic pregnancy when I was 21 so I know my chances may be that little bit more difficult as I had one fallopian tube removed. I was having the depo injection for about 2 years which stopped sometime in 2006. My periods took a long time to get back to normal but they have been now for about 6 months. I haven't been having or taking any other protection. What can I do to help get pregnant? Is there any extra help I can get from the doctors due to the fact that it is going to be more difficult anyway? Can I get any tests (either free of charge or on the NHS due to lack of funds) done to see if I am actually fertile? I am desperate to have a baby and don't want to be hanging around waiting if there is something that can be done or can help me. Thanks

Hi. I had my period on the 24th of march and i had sex on the 10th,13th,19th, and 23rd of April. on April 27th my period came on. But in may It didnt. Plenty of ppl are coming to me telling me my breast look a little bigger. my nipples have gotten daker and around and inside of my bellybotton has gotten darker. about 2 weeks ago i was spotting brown and pink spots on my panty liner. but about 5 days before that i was bleeding kind of heavey for 4 days. Im really confused. My boyfriend says that i am because he knows what he did. i took a pregnacy test but it came back negative. both of them. Am I??
