Don't be their best friend

Mother and teenage daughter
Average rating: 3 out of 5 star rating
Teenagers are looking for a parent to set boundaries, not a parent who acts like their best friend. This means you have the responsibility for making rules regarding your house and for setting consequences. This establishes clear rules about acceptable behaviour that they can use in other areas of life and in other relationships.

I try to be a friend to my son and his friends but sometimes i feel like i should be more strict with him. I worry that because i don't set enough boundaries he will take advantage of me as he gets older

I'm A Teenager Of 15 And If My Mother Sets Boundaries i just go and do the oposite. If she was more like my best friend i would listen to her veiw/opinion more.
