Older celeb mums: Sarah Brown

Sarah, the wife of Prime Minister Gordon Brown, had her first child, Jennifer Jane, (born 28th December 2001) when she was 38. Sadly the baby died at 10 days old and was born seven weeks premature. Afterwards she founded the charity Piggy Bank Kids which began as a research fund to tackle problems in pregnancy, and has now expanded into helping disadvantaged children.

In October 2003 she gave birth to a son, John, when she was 40 and more recently in July 2006 she had her third child, another boy called James Fraser, at the age of 42. James was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis at four months old.
