Height calculator: 2-3-year-olds
When your child is either 2 or 3 this very simple formula can be used to predict how tall they'll be.
The reason this works best at this age is because your child should grow quite a lot in a short space of time (about two to three inches) so it's not worth measuring them before this growth.
After this time, one child can develop quite differently to another one so it might vary. We have another formula if your child is older or younger than this that is based on how tall you and your partner are and your child's sex.
The formula
Step 1.Work out their height, in inches.
Step 2. Double it
Step 3. Convert it back to feet and inches!
Example:
An average two-year-old is about 2ft 10in.
Given that there are 12 inches in a foot, this works out to be 34 inches.
34 * 2 = 68
68 inches = 5ft 8in
Please bear in mind that this only gives an indication and is not scientific.
