Height calculator: All ages (boys)
This formula will tell you how tall your son will be, based on you and your partner's heights. Find out how tall your daughter will be.
Unlike the formula used to measure 2-3-year-olds, this one is a bit more accurate as it takes genetics into account.
The formula
Step 1. Work out the height of both parents, in inches.
Step 2. Add the two heights together
Step 3. Divide this total by 2
Step 4. Add 2.5
Step 5. Convert back to feet and inches
Example:
Given that there are 12 inches in a foot, if you're 5ft 9in and your partner is 6ft 1 this becomes 69 inches and 73 inches.
69 + 73 = 142 inches
142 divided by 2 = 71
71 + 2.5 = 73.5 inches, or 6ft 1.5in.
Although this is slightly more scientific it still only gives an indication as to what their height will be.
This formula also suggests that two children of the same sex with the same parents should be the same height and this isn't always the case, but it's still fun!

Dear Sir/ Madam, I came to your site because I, being 14, was interested how tall your calculator would predict my height to be. I found your height calculator very specific and helpful. It was brilliantly done. Yet, I am confused at the answer. My mother is 5' 6" and my Dad 6'; given these heights, according to your calculator, I should be nearly 6' in the near future. But I am at present 6' 2". Do you know why this would be? Thanks, Rich
