'I slowly watched all of the colour drain out of my husband's face when the sonographer said the words ''you're having twins''.'
Karen Haynes, mum to twins, Tom and Millie, 10.

'Our daughter, Isabel, was thrilled at the thought of having a new baby brother or sister but when we came back from the scan with a picture of our twins she screamed the house down - apparently one sibling was fine but two was too many!'
Charlotte Penniceard, mum to Isabel, 4 and Thomas and Max, 2

'My forward facing buggy was really handy when my twins were little, but got a bit heavy to push later on. As naughty toddlers they would both protest about sitting in the back seat and as punishment, whoever drew the short straw would kick the other one repeatedly through the back of his seat the whole time we were out - I moved to a side-by-side in the end to save my sanity!'
Fiona Fisher, mum to Josh and Jack, 4

'When the girls were babies I sometimes used to get confused at bath time - I'm sure some days one of them had 2 baths and the other one missed out - so I used to tie a piece of ribbon round their ankle when they'd had a bath.'
Irene Rushill, mum to Jo and Ellie, 6
