3. Come off the Pill
It can take quite a few months for your body to re-stablish itself after you've come off the Pill.
Research shows that you are actually more fertile in the first couple of months that you come off the Pill, but for the over-30s it can be much harder for some women to conceive after stopping the Pill.
What the Pill does is wipe out your personal menstrual cycle, so you may well need a few months to get used to how long your cycle is and when you're most fertile. In fact, if you're over 30 delays in your period returning are very common.

4. See your doctor
If you or your partner are taking tablets or have another prescription from your doctor, then it's worth going to see them before you start trying for a baby.
There are quite a few drugs that can affect sperm production in your partner, while common medicines such as anti-depressants, antibiotics, acne treatments and steroids can all affect your fertility.
