The cold weather affects the elderly more than anyone else because as you get older, your body temperature drops. This means old people feel the cold more than the young. They are more at risk of hypothermia and other serious cold conditions.

If you have an elderly relative or have a neighbour who is a pensioner then make sure they are OK - check that they have enough heating, blankets and warm food.
