Lack of sleep is probably the most difficult part of being a new mum and dad, as your bundle of joy wakes up every couple of hours during the night.
And while some babies start sleeping through at a relatively early age, the majority of parents suffer broken sleep for many months.
So what can you do to improve your baby's sleep? We've come up with the Top 10 baby sleep tips that will help you all get more shuteye.
1. Sort out a routine
Doing things the same way every night will give your baby a sense of security and help them understand that it's time to settle down.
This routine should be whatever works for you, but could involve cuddles, a bath and bedtime story.
Try to make sure everything slows down a little, in the run-up to bedtime. Close curtains, dim the lights and possibly put on lullaby music.
2. Get the room temperature right
Obviously you don't want your baby to freeze, but making a room too warm is also a reason why little ones don't sleep well.
Get a thermometer if you're worried and try to keep the room between 65-70°F. Check how hot or cold your baby is by touching their tummy and keep them away from draughts or radiators.
