You are now 20 weeks pregnant or in your 21st week if that's how you're counting it
How is my baby growing?
Your baby weighs around 12oz and is 25cm long.
It's started growing hair is doing somersaults! If it's a girl, she's beginning to develop a vagina, her uterus is almost formed and she has 6 million eggs in her ovaries. Your baby's also sleeping the same amount as a newborn baby.
How are you feeling?
You're half way there! But the midway blues are pretty common, so if you're feeling fat and fed-up your 20-week anomaly scan should put you in a better mood.
Seeing your baby close-up on screen is exciting, emotional and reassuring. The sonographer will look closely at your baby's developing organs including the head, spine and heart. Some are happy to reveal your baby's sex - if you want to know.
Top tips
Make sure you've booked your antenatal classes at your GP's surgery or hospital. They usually start around 8-10 weeks before your baby is due.
Don't feel guilty if you have to take time off work to attend. You are legally entitled to paid time off - and you'll be grateful for the advice later on.
