You are now 29 weeks pregnant or in your 30th week if that's how you're counting it

How is your baby growing?

Your baby is 38cm and weighs 2lbs 4 oz and looks very similar now to when it's born.

The brain is growing quickly pushing the soft skull bones out. Nerve cells are increasing so the brain is working faster and controlling body temperature and breathing. The organs will be growing rapidly too.

How are you feeling?

You'll have a second blood test to check your blood group. Most people are Rhesus-positive, but some women have a different blood group from their baby meaning the immune system can react against her baby's blood causing Rhesus disease.

62,000 babies are born Rhesus-positive to Rhesus-negative mums each year in the UK. However, an injection can now be given to Rhesus-negative mothers to stop antibodies being produced.

Scientists have also developed a new test by identifying the unborn baby's DNA just weeks into a pregnancy from a sample of the mother's blood.

Top tips

You've probably noticed that you're more clumsy and forgetful than usual - this is quite normal at this stage of pregnancy.

Your centre of gravity has changed, so take care when going up and down stairs. You might want to consider jotting yourself reminders in a notebook to help jog your memory.
