You are now 30 weeks pregnant or in your 31st week if that's how you're counting it

How is your baby growing?

Your baby will now measure about 39cm long and weigh about 2lbs 8oz.

The wrinkly skin will be getting smoother and the white, greasy vernix and the soft, protective coat of furry lanugo will start to disappear.

Muscles, brain and lungs continue to mature and the skeleton is hardening. The baby may now get into the head-down position - the most common birth position - in readiness for labour.

How are you feeling?

You will probably feel dramatic movements as your baby turns and gets comfortable, often giving you painful kicks under your ribcage.

You'll want to wee a lot more now as your baby presses down on your bladder and your pelvic floor muscles (the muscles around your vagina) become stretched.

Try to do pelvic floor exercises frequently to strengthen your muscles and avoid leaks (stress incontinence). Your belly button may pop out, but it will go back to normal after the birth.

Top tips

If you haven't done already, you should think about buying a car seat for your newborn.

Many hospitals won't let you leave without seeing your child safely strapped into one.
