I am asleep. I'm actually typing this in my sleep, or that's how sleepy I feel. When I leave work at the end of the day it's all I can do not to curl up and have a snooze in the road outside before attempting to get myself home.

My head's like a nodding dog on the train and I have to focus hard to make it to the sofa before saying hello to my husband and promptly falling asleep again. Even the idea of going out after work fills me with fear. How will I do it? How will I stay awake?

I've also been waiting for (and dreading) the day when I start suffering from morning sickness.

My mum was really sick when pregnant with both me and my brother, so I'm fully expecting to follow in her footsteps and race for the bathroom every morning, but thankfully there's no sign of it yet.

Food is starting to become a big issue, though. I'm going right off everything I usually eat and part of the problem is that all the foods I really like are on the banned list for pregnants.

I love parma ham/prosciutto, goat's cheese, brie, camembert, hollandaise sauce, runny eggs, paté, seafood, everything I can't have.

I used to eat a lot of salads and now I can't bear the idea of anything green, so I've had to totally rethink my supermarket shop.

I'm starting to get a bit nervous about my scan too. I've read far too many scary stories about how women get to the scan only to find out the baby died, or didn't progress properly, or there's an empty sac.

I can't imagine how awful that must feel to be so excited about being pregnant and your first scan, only to find that it's gone wrong and you're back at the beginning again. But I'm trying to be positive and keeping my fingers crossed it'll all be OK.
