7. I'm having problems sleeping and I'm tired all the time, what should I do?

It can be very difficult to sleep during pregnancy because of your hormones, your enlarging bump and possibly anxiety.

Have a nice warm drink before bed time, do a bit of exercise daily, experiment with your sleeping position and maybe reduce the temperature of your room, as you can often feel hot during pregnancy.

If you can't sleep, remember that resting with your eyes shut is almost as good, so just try to relax. Don't take sleeping pills (unless they are prescribed by your doctor - which sometimes happens towards the end of your pregnancy).

8. I'm getting period-type pains but no bleeding - is this normal?

It's actually incredibly common to get mild, period-like pain - but it's not in any of the textbooks. Almost everybody I know who's been pregnant has had it.

The pain might be coming from the ligaments around your stomach, but no one really knows. It's usually a mild pain and it's harmless. You only need to worry if there's bleeding as well.

9. I'm feeling grumpy and emotional a lot of the time, what can I do to stop this?

It's normal for your emotions to be heightened when you're pregnant, and there's not a great deal you can do to stop it - just go with the flow. If your emotions are caused by worries then you can talk to your GP or midwife.
