Essentials drops models and makes its readers cover stars!

Back in June we asked readers to send us their details,
their photo and a brief summary of what makes them amazing and four months
later, ten of these readers are starring on the front cover.  Take a peak at our behind-the-scenes video on our Facebook page to find out how we chose our cover stars and what went on at the cover shoot!

Over 70% of our readers told us they prefer to see real women on the front
cover. So we're featuring our fantastic readers on the
cover of every issue. Do you want to be one of our cover stars? Then email us at

Attach two clear photographs that have been taken in the last three months
(no hats, sunglasses etc.) We need one head shot and one full body shot.



Finally, send us in about 150 words your life story and what makes you
amazing.

How to Apply

1. Please supply all personal information and contact details as specified
above. Attach to your email application two photographs taken within the past
three months (one close-up head shot, and one full body shot) plus 150 words of
text detailing why you're amazing. Email your application to:

The Selection Process

2. If the Essentials team think that you may be suitable to appear on the
cover we will invite you to a casting in London.

Our right to use the content submitted

3. For the purposes of the following, the term 'content' refers to any
picture and/or text submitted to Essentials in relation to the model search.

4. You confirm that any pictures submitted by you are of yourself and that
you own the copyright in the content.

5. By submitting content, you agree to give Essentials a permanent,
irrevocable licence to use your content as it thinks fit, and you waive any
moral rights you may have in the content. Subject to the aforementioned, you
will retain ownership of the copyright in your content, but grant Essentials a
perpetual royalty-free right to exploit the same in any way it sees fit.

6. You agree to your content being published on www.goodtoknow.co.uk/essentials and on the Essentials Facebook
and Twitter pages and in the Essentials magazine and/or on the website and other
media platforms of any Essentials media partner. Essentials will, in its sole
discretion, determine the layout and placing of your content on/in such
media.

7. Essentials reserve the right to provide any content received for
broadcasting on television but no guarantee is given that any applications will
be featured on-air.

8. Essentials reserve the right to edit, alter, or adapt your content in its
absolute discretion. Applications which Essentials deem to be abusive,
defamatory, obscene or otherwise in poor taste will be deleted.

9. You agree to be filmed throughout the model search, during the photoshoot
(if selected) and all promotional activities associated with the model search
and agree that any such footage may be broadcast on television, through the
internet and/or any other media.

10. You agree to take part in any and all publicity associated with the model
search on the request of Essentials or any Essentials' media partner, which may
involve, amongst other things, appearing on television.

11. You agree that any material, including but not limited to, any
photographs and video footage obtained during the course of the model search,
shall be the sole property of Essentials and/or its media partners (as
applicable) and that you waive all your moral rights in any such material.

General

12 . By applying to appear on the cover of Essentials, applicants will be
deemed to have read and understood these rules and be bound by them.

13. This search is only open to residents of the UK, Channel Islands, Isle of
Man and Northern Ireland.

14.You must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

15. All decisions of Essentials will be final and binding. No correspondence
will be entered into.
